There is a history to the ways humans organize themselves, and that means there are possible futures of Organization — and even what ‘Organization’ means.

Take the “Distributed Autonomous Organization”, or DAO. Caught in the excitement and confusion around Blockchain, the DAO stood out as a futuristic mechanism for arranging human potential. There was a sense of possibility that there might be a new kind of arrangement of collective action. Something other than the sine qua non of modern systems of organization — the Company.

Can you imagine what might be other kinds of arrangements of human potential and collective action? If you were in one of those futures, what are these new organizations called? How do you participate? What is the nature of the activities one is engaged in? What do you call yourself? How do we have “meetings?”
