What’s For Breakfast In The ChatGPT Future?

Is The Chat Out Of The Bag?

Listen to a Digest of General Seminar S03E26 - ChatGPT Futures!

I recently listened to a podcast where the hosts were prattling on and on about ChatGPT with both exuberance and concern simultaneously. They were ticking off all the optionalities for ChatGPT capabilities and possibilities. They were chatting with ChatGPT to see what ChatGPT would chat back to them. They ran through the more peculiar and noteworthy ad-hoc experiments that normal humans and tried and reported to the world on ‘ChatGPT Twitter’.

It was cool. And ultimately super frustrating for a guy like me who wants to imagine into these speculations.

Why was it cool? Well — this particular chatty AI robot implies much for someone like me who likes to engineer and probe possibilities and speculate about futures. And I'm in there, to be sure. I've been an OpenAI, like..beta brat ever since that AI was open.

And, it was super frustrating because it sounded like a couple of guys on a beat up old third-hand sofa smoking from a hookah in the beer stained living room of their frat house.

Tell you what..these guys needed to Imagine Harder — and I would’ve expected that from a New York Times Podcast.Let’s get together and do the General Seminar thing — let’s hop into the Near Future Laboratory’s recently serviced Time Machine and go into the ChatGPT future and do some Design Fiction. Like…what’s for breakfast in the ChatGPT future, eh?

How could ChatGPT be used to help me decide what to eat for breakfast in the future?

There are a number of ways in which ChatGPT or a similar AI system could potentially be used to help you decide what to eat for breakfast in the future. Some possible examples include:

* Recommending options based on your preferences and dietary restrictions: ChatGPT could potentially be trained to understand your preferences and dietary restrictions, and could use this information to recommend breakfast options that would be suitable for you. For example, if you have a preference for healthy, low-carb options, ChatGPT might recommend a bowl of oatmeal with berries and nuts.

* Providing recipe suggestions: ChatGPT could potentially be used to generate recipe suggestions based on the ingredients you have available. For example, if you have eggs, cheese, and vegetables in your fridge, ChatGPT might suggest a frittata or an omelette.

* Offering recommendations based on your location: ChatGPT could potentially be integrated with location data to provide recommendations for breakfast options based on your location. For example, if you’re traveling and want to try local cuisine, ChatGPT might recommend a traditional breakfast dish from the region you’re visiting.

* Suggesting options based on your schedule and activities: ChatGPT could potentially be integrated with your calendar and other data sources to understand your schedule and activities for the day, and could suggest breakfast options based on this information. For example, if you have an early meeting or a workout planned, ChatGPT might recommend a high-protein breakfast to fuel your body.

It’s important to note that these are just a few examples of how ChatGPT or a similar AI system might be used to help you decide what to eat for breakfast in the future. The specific capabilities of the AI system, as well as how it is implemented and used, will ultimately determine what it is capable of doing in this regard.
